Multiple Hit and Run Globe Traffic Accidents Caused By Single Drunk Driver

As experienced Globe hit and run victim attorneys, we were shocked by reports from Kiko News detailing several hit and run accidents caused by one driver on July 8. The accidents happened in the afternoon on Main Street in Central Heights when a drunk driver crashed into multiple vehicles. Independent reports indicate that while some of the vehicles were parked and had no occupants, other vehicles were in motion at the time of their collisions.

The man was caught and arrested by police. No indications of the number or severity of injuries was made by police in the reports, though additional information suggests that at least one individual sustained injuries in a collision. We hope all of the people involved are doing well and that they recover soon from any and all injuries they may have suffered.

Hit and Run Yuma Traffic Accident Kills Pedestrian

As experienced Yuma pedestrian accident attorneys, we were deeply disturbed and truly saddened by a collision that took place on July 3, as reported by ABC 15 News. The accident happened sometime between 4 a.m. and 4:30 a.m when a man walking down 24th Street near Avenue C was struck by a vehicle. We are truly sorry for the pain the young man’s family must be experiencing at this time and we hope that the days ahead will be better for them.

Young Boy Critically Injured in Hit and Run Phoenix Car Accident

As experienced Phoenix car accident attorneys, we were taken aback by the results of a serious crash that happened on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, according to news reports from KPHO. The crash happened Wednesday morning on Van Buren Road near 20th Avenue when a young boy was struck by a car. The other child was not injured. The driver of the vehicle that hit the boy reportedly attempted to swerve around the children but was unable to avoid hitting the one child. The young boy was taken to the emergency room in critical condition; however, he is now stable and his injuries are not life-threatening. We hope that this young boy recovers from his injuries and that his family is coping well.

The fact that the driver hit the boy and fled the scene does not bode well for the driver. People should remember that hitting someone by accident is an accident possibly, but leaving the scene is an intentional action that can be criminal as well as civil.

Phoenix Traffic Collision and Child Injury Statistics

Every year, there are more than 29,060 reported Phoenix traffic collisions, according to recent reports by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). More than 9,700 of the accidents result in injuries to more than 15,050 involved individuals, many of them to young children. Statewide, children under the age of 14 are frequently involved in car accidents as passengers, pedestrians, and bicycle riders. Recent reports indicate that children account for as many as 30 or more fatalities and nearly 4,000 serious injuries every year. Young boys in this age group are more likely to be involved in car accidents than young girls, according to statistics.

Teenager Injured in Hit and Run Prescott Valley Car Accident

As Arizona hit and run car accident attorneys with years of experience handling hit and run cases, we were shocked to hear reports by the Prescott Daily Courier of a collision on April 27 in Prescott Valley. The incident occurred when a car travelling on Pronghorn Ranch Parkway struck a pedestrian who was trying to cross the road at the intersection with Viewpoint Drive. According to eyewitness testimony and the victim, the car stopped temporarily after the collision but the driver did not get out of the car or check on the condition of the teenage boy who had been hit. The car then sped away. Emergency crews transferred the boy to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries. Our hearts go out to the boy who was injured and to his family, and we hope that police are able to locate the driver responsible.

How a Prescott Valley Pedestrian Accident Happens

The best way for drivers to avoid being involved in an Arizona pedestrian car crash is to keep their attentions focused on the road. This means that nearly 85 percent of collisions involving pedestrians result in injuries to at least one person.

Flagstaff Hit-and-Run Accident: Driver Charged With Murder

As Arizona hit-and-run accident lawyers, we have seen a great number of collisions caused by drivers under the influence of drugs and alcohol, and we were sad to hear the news that a recent crash has been linked to illegal substances, according to The Arizona Daily Sun. A teenager was linked to a crash in August 2011 when he was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and speeding, hit another car, and immediately fled the scene. His victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries and later died.

Recent reports have indicated that driver was drunk on Jagermeister and high on cocaine at the time of the incident. We want to take a moment to use this crash to remind other drivers of the seriousness of breaking the law, including driving drunk, speeding, and especially fleeing the scene of an accident. This can result in worse injuries or death for the victim because of the possible delay in emergency responders to the scene.

What Caused this Flagstaff Car Accident?

The driver was speeding when he caused this Flagstaff auto accident, and his choice to the flee the scene of the accident prompted the local District Attorney to file charges against the teenager for manslaughter and several other felonies and misdemeanors including DUI, underage consumption, and property damage. Recent evidence pointing to the influence of drugs and alcohol in this case has prompted the District Attorney to amend the charges to include second-degree murder.

How Can an Experienced Flagstaff Car Accident Lawyer Help?

In cases of depraved indifference, negligence, driving under the influence, and hit-and-run accidents, you need an experienced lawyer to help you fight for your rights. In the case of this victim’s wrongful death, his family may yet see justice if the at-fault driver is convicted of murder, but an experienced wrongful death attorney can also help families receive compensation to cover funeral costs, property damage, personal damages, and more. Driver Flees Scene after Phoenix Pedestrian Accident

The law team at Breyer Law Offices, P.C. was extremely disappointed to hear that yet another driver has fled the scene of a pedestrian accident in Phoenix. The woman who was hit was crossing the road near 19th Avenue and Camelback Road on December 22. The driver left her lying across the light-rail tracks after hitting her. Our thoughts and prayers are with her, and we wish her a fast recovery.

People who leave the scene of car accidents should question their actions and turn themselves in to the police. For families of injured victims, and even more so for families of loved ones who are killed in hit and run car accidents, knowing the facts surrounding an accident is important. When drivers leave the scene, it makes it that much harder for families and loved ones of innocent victims. No one should ever be the victim of a hit and run car accident.

Causes of This Phoenix Hit and Run Accident

According to a news report in AZ Central, this Phoenix pedestrian accident happened at night when visibility was poor. The woman crossed outside of a designated crosswalk. When the car hit her, the driver apparently kept going and fled the scene. The pedestrian was intoxicated. That being said, this woman most likely has a personal injury claim against the driver. Whether pedestrians are intoxicated or not in the cross walk does not always determine whether or not they have a valid personal injury claim, especially when the driver flees the scene of the car accident.

How Can a Phoenix Personal Injury Attorney Help?

It would take an experienced Phoenix hit and run attorney to investigate this accident. Some victims think they have no legal rights if they cross outside of a designated crosswalk or are intoxicated, but that is not always true, especially as stated above, when the driver has broken the law by fleeing the scene. The Husband and Wife Law Team at Breyer Law Offices, P.C. would have to thoroughly investigate by reviewing police reports, interviewing witnesses, and more. The team would work to obtain a settlement from the at-fault driver to pay for the medical expenses, hospital stay, and more. Contact us for a free initial consultation.

Tucson Hit-and-Run Accident Leads to Injured Officers

As Tucson hit-and-run accident lawyers, we were shocked to hear that a driver hit not one but two motorcycle officers on January 4 after being pulled over for a routine traffic stop. According to a news report in the Arizona Daily Star, the driver pulled behind one motorcycle officer who was conducting another traffic stop. Once at a stop, the driver backed up to hit the officer behind him, then pulled forward to hit the other one, leaving them both with injuries.

The incident occurred at 9:30 a.m. near the South Palo Verde Road bridge at 36th Street. The driver then fled to some nearby apartment buildings, got out of the car, and disappeared on foot. He has yet to be apprehended, but police describe him as a male in his 20’s wearing a red and white baseball cap and dark colored hooded jacket. Anyone with information is asked to call 88-CRIME.

Tucson Hit-and-Run Accident Statistics

There were 9,720 car accidents in Tucson during 2010 that resulted in 54 deaths and 5,315 injuries. In total in Arizona, there were 11,388 hit-and-run accidents that led to 44 deaths and 3,150 injuries, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).

Avoiding Tucson Hit-and-Run Accidents

Unfortunately, there are very few ways to avoid hit-and-run accidents. Our best advice is to always be aware of your surroundings and try to prevent them before they happen. In some cases, other drivers can act as witnesses and record the license plate numbers of anyone trying to flee the scene, which is illegal and can result in large fines as well as jail time in Arizona.

Two-Car Accident in Bullhead City, Suspect Flees

As Bullhead City personal injury attorneys, we were saddened to hear that a suspect involved in a car crash fled the scene before police arrived. A white pick-up truck with no lights smashed into the back of another car at the intersection of McCormick Blvd. and Indian Head Drive early Sunday morning according to The Mohave Daily News. The driver of the truck exited his vehicle, tried to convince the other driver not to call police, and then fled the scene according to witnesses. When police arrived, the suspect was gone. Luckily, no one was injured.

Cause of This Bullhead City Car Accident

Driving under the influence caused this Bullhead auto accident. Victims of drunk drivers often experience, at the very least, damages to their vehicles and minor injuries. Others are seriously injured or killed. It takes an experienced car accident lawyer to investigate the case, uncover the facts and represent the victim to recover damages and medical bills.

Arizona Hit-and-Run Statistics

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) reports that more than 16,000 Arizona drivers were guilty of hit-and-run accidents in 2005. While the victims in this car collision luckily escaped injury, there are many victims that don’t. As car accident lawyers, we often see people who were injured and don’t receive immediate assistance because the other driver flees the scene and doesn’t call for help. Also, like many hit-and-run incidents, this crash involved driving under the influence, which police later discovered when a woman called them to report that the suspect was walking down the middle of McCormick Blvd. She called for help after she allowed him to get into her car where he then repeatedly vomited.

However, a second vehicle struck the man and then fled the scene. The first driver has not been cited. The pedestrian was not walking in the crosswalk and was said to have been impaired. The victim was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Police are currently looking for the second vehicle.

Son of Scottsdale CEO Killed in Hit-And-Run

Hit and run accidents that involve pedestrians are often fatal. Speeding motor vehicles can appear in what seems like instantly leaving a pedestrian severely injured. According to a Crash Facts Summary for Arizona in 2009, there were a total of 3,687 crashes in Scottsdale alone.

In recent news, the son of a CEO in Scottsdale, was involved in a hit-and-run accident and was pronounced dead after being rushed to a nearby hospital. The father is asking for help to find the people responsible for his son’s untimely death. Reports say that the son was standing by the striped median lane, Sunday on Hayden Road when he was hit at around 1:30 a.m. Witnesses claim to have seen a silver pickup truck, possibly a Chevy Silverado, travelling southbound on Hayden Road and hit Daniel. As his father released in an official statement, “He’s a wonderful son. I trust law enforcement will do everything in its power to find the people that fled the scene so facts can be known and justice, served.” It must be hard for a parent to lose their child, especially in such an unfortunate way.

10-Year-Old Girl Victim of Hit and Run in Surprise

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), one in every five children from 5 to 9 years old were killed in pedestrain road traffic accidents in 2008. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among American children and young adults. In 2009, pedestrian-motor vehicle crashes accounted for 59,000 reported injuries and took the lives of 4,092 victims.

Pedestrian fatalities have dropped by 22 percent since 1998. Despite all of this, we still cannot be assured that pedestrians are any safer. There are a number of possibilities that we have to consider such as the number of people walking, how often and where they walk. This is to be certain that the decline is indeed a good one.

Did you know that three out of for pedestrian fatalities happen in urban areas? In Arizona, 155 pedestrians were killed and 1,236 were injured in 2010 according to the Arizona Department of Transport (ADOT). Out of these numbers 101 Arizona pedestrian fatalities and 1,135 injuries occurred in urban areas.

On Tuesday evening (09/07/11), a 10-year old girl was struck by a Toyota Camry while walking in a crosswalk. The girl was walking at West Point Parkway and Rimrock Street, northwest of Dysart and Greenway roads in Surprise. Police authorities revealed that the driver of the vehicle reportedly got out of the car to check on the girl but left immediately.

The girl was taken to the hospital by helicopter while the suspected driver was taken into custody by the police.

Glendale Hit and Run Accident Leaves 1 Bicyclist Injured

Did you know that 630 bicyclists were killed and 51,000 more were injured in motor vehicle traffic crashes on US roads in 2009? According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, these bicycle fatalities represent 2 percent of the total traffic fatalities in 2009. Statistics also revealed that 70 percent of these crashes happen in urban areas and at non-intersections. In most cases, bicycle injury statistics are under-reported. This is because police do not report the accident especially when the victim is not seriously injured.
bicycle-crash-6344614.jpg

On Thursday afternoon (7/7/11), another bicyclist was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries after he was hit by a car in Glendale. According to Glendale police, the collision happened near 51st and Northern avenues.

The car was describe as a gray car and was driven by a man. The driver did not stop after the collision and was last seen travelling northbound on 51st avenue.

Although hit and run laws in US differ from one state to another, in most instances, it is considered to be a serious crime. It is often defined as the failure to stop after an accident. Hit and run law statistics show that approximately eleven percent of all vehicle accidents are hit and run car accidents.

The punishment for hit and run can also differ such as a hit and run law violator will be required to compensate the victim for his/her losses, may have their license suspended or revoked, and may also face criminal/punitive fines. In more serious cases an offender may also be required to serve jail time, and may face points on his/her insurance or DVM records. Hit and run law violators may also lose their license or insurance coverage completely as a result of their crime.

Phoenix DPS Officer Chases Down Hit and Run Crash Suspect

A hit and run is actually a serious crime in most jurisdictions. It is not only unsafe, it is also unfair for those who have been hit and have been injured in the process. In the United States, about 10% out of all traffic collisions are caused by a hit and run situation. It is called hit and run because after hitting a vehicle or a pedestrian, the vehicle who caused the hit, immediately drives away without leaving any identification..

In Phoenix, a Department of Public Safety officer was taken to the hospital after his vehicle was struck (ABC15 07/12/2011). Police say that the DPS officer’s unmarked car was turning into a convenience store when another vehicle struck him in a merging lane. Reportedly, the other vehicle did not stop driving for half a mile before the DPS officer who was struck was able to stop the vehicle. The driver of the second car was then arrested but released at the scene. The DPS officer was then taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

In motor vehicle crashes in Arizona, it is expected that any driver who has been involved in an accident should stop his or her vehicle when it is safe to do so. Identification should be exchanged as well as contact information with any other driver who has been involved in the accident.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a hit and run accident in Arizona, you may call us for a free consultation at (602) 457-6222. We are Arizona hit and run crash lawyers and we may be able to help.

Arizona Hit and Run Bicycle Accident Critically Injures Cyclist

Car accidents are responsible for an incredible amount of deaths in the United States. Just in 2009, 33,808 people died in car accidents. One might think that responsibility is the first thing expected from such accidents, but it is surprising how until today people still avoid their responsibilities such as cases of hit and run accidents.

An Arizona hit and run bicycle accident had occurred in Surprise recently, when a car hit a bicycle on the road and left the victim there to suffer from his injuries. Authorities of Surprise reported that the incident had left the bicyclist in critical condition. The victim was found and brought to a local hospital and is still in extremely serious condition.

According to reports, the bicyclist had only been biking on the Friendship Bridge close to 115th Avenue, and as he did so, he was struck violently by an eastbound pickup truck. According to the Surprise police, a search is now on for the vehicle and the driver. They are on the lookout for a dark pickup truck, with perhaps a side mirror missing or damage to its lights.

If you have any information about this accident please contact the Surprise Police Department. To avoid such incidents one must always be alert on any road.
