Arizona Man Hit By Careless Driver Who May Have Been Drunk

Arizona drunk driving must be stopped. Car accident lawyers in AZ can do their part. If we cannot stop drunk driving car accidents in Tucson and Phoenix and throughout Arizona, we must do more to decrease the number. According to reports, Rene Herrera was walking on Camelback Road near 37th Avenue when Victor Lopez ran a red light, swerved onto the sidewalk and hit Mr. Herrera. According to the reports, alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.

To the degree that alcohol was involved in this incident there must be criminal prosecution and, if possible, civil prosecution as well. We have all heard about drunk driving accidents. We all know how many Arizona residents are killed because of drunk drivers every year. We have all heard the stories of the terrible Tucson car accidents and Phoenix drunk driving accidents that take the lives of innocent people.

The criminal justice system can work. Putting people in jail can be helpful. But what about hitting people who drink and drive and hurt others recklessly in their pocket book as well? How about at least bringing a claim against their insurance company and forcing them to deal with the personal injury aspect of drinking and driving to make them think twice about ever doing it again. How about using experienced Arizona drunk driver injury lawyers who make it clear that we will not tolerate drinking and driving. We will not tolerate people walking down the sidewalk becoming victims of others who are careless and reckless and simply don’t care about anything other than themselves when they get behind the wheel of a car after they are drunk.

While we do not know the details of this case, and it is possible that alcohol was not a factor here, we do know that alcohol is repeatedly a factor in pedestrian accidents involving motor vehicles throughout Arizona. To that end, we must take every step necessary to help reduce the number of people hurt because of drunk drivers in Phoenix and throughout the State.

If you or anybody you know has a potential Arizona personal injury claim related to a drunk driver, please feel free to give us a call. We are happy to answer your questions and guide you in the right direction both for your own benefit and to hopefully prevent others from becoming innocent victims in the future.
