Though fatal Chandler car accidents are typically uncommon, news reports this year have shown an increase in deadly collisions like an accident reported on August 9 by ABC15 News. The crash happened shortly after 4 a.m. when two vehicles collided at the junction of the westbound San Tan Loop 202 and the northbound Loop 101. One of the cars involved in the accident rolled into oncoming traffic, but no additional vehicles were involved in the collision. The ramp was shut down for more than four hours following the crash.
One person was killed in the fatal rollover accident, but police did not report on additional injuries or the cause of the collision. We are truly sorry to hear about this accident and our thoughts go out to the loved ones of the victim tonight.
How to Avoid a Serious Chandler Car Accident
Although few fatal Chandler car accidents occur every year, more than 3,500 car wrecks do occur in the city annually, according to reports from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). Injuries are reported in nearly one-third of these collisions and roughly 1,400 people are physically harmed. Drivers can avoid being involved in one of these serious collisions, being injured, and being killed by paying attention to the road.
This means putting away your cell phone, turning down the radio and leaving your meal at the table. Other ways drivers can avoid injury-causing crashes include not driving while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or pharmaceuticals, or while fatigued.
